She believed

.

I believe I'll have another piece of chocolate. Hahaha
What did you believe and do?
Blessings,

Be that person

 .
I'm going to remember this when I need an attitude adjustment as I have needed some of those here recently. Why is it when we want to be a blessing to someone that sometimes things get tougher?!  Is someone trying to challenge us? yikes!  It's kind of like praying for patience - DON'T DO IT!! Warning. Warning....do you remember that robot on "Lost in Space"...okay, I think that right now my mind is just a little lost....just reminiscing...
have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Maya Angelou is a wise woman

Isn't that so true?!  I think about how wonderful people are and that even though blog friends may never meet face to face, I have been truly touched! Hugs to you amazing and incredible ladies!
Blessings,

Heard a great saying!

Anticipating the phrase uttered by students (children) across the land, I heard the best saying that I am SO going to use!
You know the phrase...."I'm bored." Working at a school, I've heard more than a few times.  Some kids even start off the day that way.  Oh, no...wait a minute....they say, "I'm tired."  Anyway, that might be another post, but for today....to use the next time a young one says I'm bored, share this statement with them:
Boring!
I bet they won't say that much anymore!  I hope you have a superterrific (and I know it won't be boring because we don't have time for boring) day!!
Blessings,

Blessings,

Got time?

For women who do too much is a book that I'm guessing most of us should read.  Mine would say something like, "For women who do too much and forget what they were supposed to do and double book themselves, whose homes are in disarray because they are too busy doing."  There, how is that for a title?  I like it.Pinned Image
This Friday I was supposed to be two places at once but forgot about the second place until I got a phone call asking "where are you."  Thankfully that was my daughter and she knows me.
Today, I painted and glittered up a file holder to bring to school tomorrow.  More glitter is my motto, had to repaint my nails, made oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies for our custodians because they helped me out with a project (always take care of those who take care of you and be sure to set the timer correctly so the cookies don't come out crisp), made banana cake bread (made with whole wheat flour and only 1 banana) so I can have it on the way to work since I am always on the run. Do you want the recipe for that? I have time. =0)

Farewell Summer

 Pinned Image
As you read this, I will be returning back to school...back to a completely different job, back to a new year, some new children, some new staff, and new challenges and expectations.  One thing we can count on is change.  I am sure glad that none of it takes God by surprise.  If we could hear him, I'm sure He would say something like, "I've got this."
How about you?  What is new in your world?

Blessings,

The Pink Wall

This summer was a whirlwind of things!  I've never had a summer go so fast.  The first and most wonderful thing I did this summer was visit my first born grandson in upstate New York.
Can you say adorable?!
When I got home I painted and painted and painted...I'll interpret that for you - I painted the family room once and the dining room twice...yep, I believe in trying an idea and if it doesn't work, do it over...Actually, if the truth be known, I painted the room and thought it would be fun to have ONE fancy dinner in there, but then I would want it something different.  My husband didn't like it at all.  What he really objected to was the black tutu on the dress form.  Go figure...
Anyhoo, I repainted the wall a soft pink and I will sneak put the dress form out at the holidays to give it a dressy effect.
More pictures to come of this summer's "to done" list.  Unfortunately, the "to do" list is a little bit longer.
And, in keeping with the daily (well, almost) quotes, I leave you with this:
The secret of getting ahead is getting started.  Mark Twain
What did you accomplish this summer?

Blessings,
Jenn from Peacorn and Popnuts has asked me about the Peach Jalapeno Jelly that I made, so I am sharing a few pictures here and the recipe from the blog I got it from.  Of course, it all started on Pinterest...love that place!  Talk about a place to waste time relax!  Love it!
All the pictures are mine except for the finished product which I am posting from Red Mommy Crafts where I got this recipe.  It is DEELISH!! We are fortunate to have some amazing peach growers here in Colorado and this year was exceptional!!

And, last but not least, the finished product (from Redd Mommy Crafts)!!

Enjoy and have a wonderful rest of the summer!

Make Mine Pink

I love pink, bling, bedazzled, and all things girly.
This is my newest nail color combination.

 What do you think?

Yes!!!
What colors can you come up with?  I thought of Pinkalicious but then realized that's already the name of a book (darn it!).  How about Pink Popcorn, or Cotton Candy Pink (okay, not too original), Pink Dreams, I Dream in Pink, Purposeful Pink (kind of sings), Pink Latte (hmm, just kind of like that name), If You Can Pink It, You Can Do It...what names can you come up with?
My SIL (Son-in-law) had to show me this post the other day because of "how" I describe things.  He thought it was hilarious and I thought it was very insightful.  How females describe color is on the left and how guys describe color is on the right. What do you think?

I hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday in whatever shade it is!  Stop by and say "hello" to Beverly and the other ladies.

Blessings,

You're a winner if...

Maxine

You gotta love Maxine!!  I'm right there with her!  I thought this was fitting because the Olympics have now come to a close.  My family likes to watch and I did more this year than in the past.  It's just that I get so nervous for them and I want everyone to win!  I love their stories...their triumphs, their hopes!  Weren't you proud of all of them for their accomplishments?!

Here are couple of great quotes on winners:
"History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heartbreaking obstacles before they triumphed.  They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeats.

“It's not true that nice guys finish last. Nice guys are winners before the game even starts.” Addison Walker

Rule #7

This is the picture of innocence...not!  Can you believe I actually posted a picture that is really mine?!  I am a dog lover and we have grown especially fond of Springer Spaniels.  This is Mitzi who has personality galore!  She sits like this often and it cracks us up.  She doesn't have us fooled anymore though, because we know who the trouble maker is in the house.  (Our other Springer is getting older.  He is the kindest and gentlest dog.  His calling in life is to just make sure everyone is doing okay - I would love to be that selfless).
I found this next quote and loved it.  I am at #7.  We haven't moved pawst (I just made that up) that, so I think we will probably stay there.

So true of man's (woman's!) best friend!

Are you a dog lover or a cat lover or a bird lover or a ???
Whatever you are, I know its a good one!

What Not to Do

Yep, that is the name of my next blog...on second thought, it'll be my "other" name for this blog.  I could come up with endless material for this category.
The peach jelly is done, but I'm not sure if it turned out or not.  I'll have some tomorrow.  I can share one "what not to do".  Just because the jalapeno peppers smell like a regular bell pepper doesn't mean that it is one.  When working with jalapeno peppers, do what the instructions say and wear gloves!!  Yes, Virginia, there are instructions for a reason.  So, my message for today will be "follow the rules". The best laid plans. . .

The Best Laid Plans: A Novel by Lynn Schnurnberger
            i found it here

Meaning

The most carefully prepared plans may go wrong. (Well, duh!)

I have no idea what the above book is about, but I liked the picture.  She looks like she either has attitude or is going to make sure she looks good when her plans go awry.. . which brings me to this post.  Yesterday (plus a few before that, but we'll stick with yesterday) I got this great idea to buy a box of peaches and make two peach pies (that went well) and make peach jalapeno jelly (I haven't ever made jelly before so this should be another interesting endeavor).  I also decided to make breakfast burritos and give some to my daughter and her husband and some for us....that would be where our story begins....I "attempted" to make hash browns (long and sad story) and they didn't work out so good but I thought, "They'll be fine...I'll just add a little seasoning to them".  Then instead of getting a new skillet, I scrambled the eggs in the same pan.  Can you say "smoke"?  Never seen it happen before and hope to never do it again.  Evidently I was in denial because I still thought, "it''ll be fine...I'll just add some seasoning to it".  Then I decided to sample it "just to make sure"...can you say disgusting burned? (I always like how NanaDiana crosses out what she really wants to say...makes me smile).  So, that project went down the drain...literally...which resulted in the best laid plans. The sink backed up, spilled out into the basement, overflowed on the kitchen floor as well as under the sink, etc, etc, etc...how many bowls, cooking utensils do you think were out?  You got it - a lot!  We had to leave to go to someone's home and didn't get back til late.  At least the pie came out.

Today the plumber came.  Can you say embarrassing?  I don't know what to be more embarrassed for - the mess or the smell.  I think I'll go with the smell.

smell bad

              i found it here

Anyway, this brings me to say that I have a mess on my hands plus I need to get the peach jelly done before the peaches get to ripe (they taste divine) and "IF" they turn out, I'll share a picture.  Otherwise, it'll just be another story.  It may be a few days before I post...sorry!

I just want you to know how much I love it when you stop by and let me know that you were here.  It totally makes my day!!

Blessings,

What are you doing?

I love this little girl. So precious!

Hmmm. . .wonder what I'm gonna do today?  What are you going to do?  Whatever it is, I hope it's a great one!!
