Going Green...kind of

I was trying to think of something creative and inexpensive, (okay....free) that I could do for outside decor.  Being one to see "potential" in everything, I decided to take a walk down the block to a rather large branch that had been blown from a tree.  The wind can be challenging, but they say there is good even in unfortunate conditions.  That being said, here is what I did with the branch.  It is outside our front door welcoming guests that may come for a visit.
 May God Bless Us Everyone!

Pink and Black...It's a Girl Thing

It's almost Pink Saturday AND it's Black Friday!  What a great combination!
Hmmm.....what should I wear for the occasion?
Option #1:  What do you think of this basic black dress?  Every girl has a basic black dress, doesn't she?  And, make sure you check out her boots!  You can tell a lot about a girl by her boots shoes.

Option #2:  Or should I wear this cute little number.  Surely Twiggy would be pleased.  (My hips would be screaming though...."LET ME OUTTA HERE!"  (Check out the boots again...you can tell a lot about a girl...)

Option #3:  Or, we have this little number.  I don't think she has shopping on her mind, but the dress sure is cute. I'm thinkin' those shoes are going to be a little uncomfortable by the end of the day though.  Ouch!
Next, we must choose a bag...a pink and black bag of course.
Well, what do you think?  I agree, it's not big enough.  I like a BAG!

Now, this one is kind of cute, but it's not making the statement I'm looking for.
Now, this bag is more like it.  It's cute, it's fun and it's big!
Then again, if I carried this one, it would appear that I "meant business" when I walked into a store.  hmmm...
Well, when all is said and done, maybe I should just take a shopping cart on wheels.  I would make a very colorful bag lady!
I had better bring along my pink and black Nikes to change into at the end of the day when my feet no longer move with the rest of my body!

The more I think about it, comfort is in!  I just found this great shirt on Zazzle.  Isn't this great?  See, I think Black Friday is becoming a holiday.
Whatever you are doing, I hope you are having a wonderful day!  Happy Pink Saturday to you!  Remember to stop by all of the other Pink Saturday members ,especially Beverly our Pink Saturday hostess.  Leave them a message and remember that if they don't get back to you right away, they are probably out doing the Black Friday thing too!

Blessings,

I am doing the happy dance!

Becoming...

“It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.”
~ Margery Williams Bianco, The Velveteen Rabbit
It's nice to know that I am being made real.  Anybody else being made real? It's kind of a nice feeling.
Blessings,

And the winner is...

Have you used the Random Generator?  That was sweet!  Enter the number of entries, click on the button and wahlah - it generates a number for you.  Love that!
I have to say that it was difficult to do that because I wanted everyone to win.  It's a good thing that I'm not a judge because I would want everyone to win.  Anyway, thank you so much for entering my first blog giveaway.  The winner was Miss Linda over at http://memawslove.blogspot.com/
That was so much fun that I think I will have to do more.

Blessings,
I found the most wonderful tutorial that combines the beauty of fall with shabby chic!  Look at these gorgeous gourds and pumpkins that have been painted and dusted with glitter.  Aren't they wonderful?  Andrea at the Cottage Market was the one who came up with these beauties.  Please go stop by her place  to learn the "how to", and just say hello.

Blessings,

It was fun

Saturday was a full day.  The day started off with a group of six women talking about what it means for us to restore our soul.  We had some great discussion.  We realized that some of what restores our souls are the same while others are very different.  We then got onto the subject of the fun things we used to do like to do.  Do you remember Kick the Can?
Wasn't that fun?!  How about jacks?!  I LOVE(D) jacks.
If I could sit my body on the floor, I know I would still love it.  However, I am "jacks challenged".  I expect that much hasn't changed.  I was also a closet barbie doll player - for that matter just a closet doll player all around.  I loved dolls then and I love them now.  I used to set up all of my paper dolls on my beds and use the card stock folders they came in as their homes.  I had quite a set up on my bed.  It looked like a virtual paper doll town.
Well, yesterday, I got to play some more - I know what yur thinkin'.  No, it wasn't paper dolls. (Only because I don't have any at the moment).  I met some friends at a corn maze.  Was that fun or what?!  We had to look for clues and mark them off.
As it was, we were in there for an hour and a half and we gave up, err, I mean we were hungry and went to eat at a FABULOUS restaurant.  I read where several people got all of the clues.  I think they're lyin' cause we didn't find them all.  Maybe I'm just corn maze challenged!  Yea, that's it.  What a fun day it was.  I have to say that at the end of the day my soul did get some refreshment. How about you?  What do you do to refresh your soul?
Blessings,

Creative Bloggers

I love bloggers because you can meet such wonderful people and find such fabulous ideas!!  And, I have both a wonderful person with a fabulous idea.  Kathryn at Take My Breath Away was gracious enough to let me share this with you.  You have got to go and check out what she did at her home.
Talk about creativity! It has to be such a fun place to visit.  If you would like more ideas on "how to" do this, Kathryn would be happy to share!  You know what else?!  She lives now in the same suburb that I used to.  It really is a small world!
Thank you, Kathyrn, so much for letting me share your talents here!

Happy Pink Cookies

Happy Pink Saturday to all of you Pinkies!  Don't you just love this day?  I do!  I have been collecting pink pictures for this event.  But, for today, I actually have something pink that I took pictures of at home and that is these yummy and amazing cookies.  I wish that I could say it is my recipe, but it's not!  These cookies are the BOMB!  Before I go too much farther, I want to give credit to where I found these.  Please go over and visit Trisha at Glass Slippers .  She is so amazingly talented at being creative, baking and a beautiful person.  (Aren't we blessed to know so many wonderful people via blog land)?
I have been looking for a good sugar cookie recipe for a long time and finally found one - this one!  You know, nothing much comes between me and a good cookie.  Have I shared before that I heard you wouldn't eat as many if you just froze them and took them out to thaw when you wanted one?  Well, apparently, the person who came up with that idea never ate a frozen cookie!  Frozen cookies are us!  They are good!  And, I enjoyed every single one of them - frozen!
Here is the recipe from Trisha:

Here is one of the pictures of the cookies that Trisha made.  She had made these for a friend's birthday.  Trisha, my birthday is in February..... (I hope you know I'm kidding...sort of...no, really) =0)

Linking up today with Beverly over at Pink Saturday.
Remember to enter my blog giveaway - a GORGEOUS HOPE ribbon ring retail $117!
