For Today

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...
the snow is falling.  We probably have about 15" of snow and it is so beautiful.
I am thinking...

of the holiday season and knowing that this is an incredibly painful time for some...wishing I could help take some of the pain away.
I am thankful...
I say it a lot, but I am so thankful for my family.  I am blessed and as my children continue to marry wonderful spouses, then my family gets bigger and I love that!
I am thankful for some amazing blogging friends
From the learning rooms...(if this applies)
Be still...it is in the quiet that we can hear His voice
In the kitchen...
made a new recipe - chicken lasagna.  They liked it!
cleaning up the kitchen again...
I am wearing...
a really cute sweater that I purchased at a yard sale...it's my new color that I like so much - I call it "Grinch green" because it's Christmas...otherwise we could call it lime green or apple green.  It's trimmed in jewels of pink, clear and green.
and, of course, blue jeans.......
I am creating...
I just made this and I love her face...
I am going...
to stay in where it is warm and watch the snow fall outside
I am wondering...
why I bought so many chocolate chips and what to do with them
I am reading...
List Yourself
When the Heart Waits by Sue Monk Kidd
Blogging - It's a "Woman" Thing by Cindy Adkins
I am hoping...
that God will have mercy on our country and that we will support Israel
I am looking forward to...
God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11
I am hearing...
my dogs breathing, the sound of the keyboard and quiet
Around the house...
all is calm
and a little disheveled
I am pondering...
what to do next
One of my favorite things...
the color pink
A few plans for the rest of the week:
spend time with family, write a few notes, play Words with Friends, cook, bake, read
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Blessings,

Pinterest

You know, if I never got on Pinterest again, I would still have enough ideas to do for the rest of my life.
Check out some of the fun things that I've pinned.
These are my feelings exactly!

This is also me.

I love this one...

this makes me smile...

I collect foxes....I want a pet one.....don't think it's going to happen

This is by one of my favorite artists.  Oh, how I would love to have one of her paintings.  Joann Batistte..

I collect and make dolls....just love them...they always have a message...

And, finally, a picture of Jean Luke Pickard.  He's probably saying "Get off of Pinterest"
What fun things have you found on Pinterest?

Making Space

Please visit the Little Waltz who showcases this beautiful craft room.
Three weeks ago I went back to school.  I also started a job on the side doing something else I love.  Well, I got this crazy  idea to get a booth at the local county fair to showcase my new adventure.  I did this after my first week back to work and all day on the weekend and then the kids came back to school the following Monday.  Move forward five days later and I had a dozen women at my home over the weekend and three  overnight guests at my house.  Did I mention that I needed to clean before they all came?  Needless to say, I got sick that weekend and spent the last week going to bed EARLY trying to nurse myself back to health.  I know now why there are books out for "women who do to much."  I know that I'm also preaching to the choir here.  I know that any woman reading this post knows exactly what I am talking about.  So, what's my point?  I really do have one.  One thing that I learned from my small group this summer is that we have to learn to "make space" for what we want to do - what is important to us.  The woman speaking to us about this is getting ready to write her 4th book and knows that she needs to make space to do this.  She asked such a simple and profound question...what do you want to make room for?  I am an "aholic".  It seems that many things that I do, I do it a lot - like the internet (lets just lump that all together - facebook, e-mail, blogging, my new "aholic" - Pinterest).  Lets add to that some of the TV shows that I like - NCIS and most recently The Closer.  Next is my Etsy shop, the Friday night art group, the two online art swaps I was in (those were really fun), Sunday school, women's ministries, weekly meetings, weekly small group, full-time job, volunteer, wife, mom, friend, etc.... I am nuts!  Well, do you want to know what I did?  Since I started my new side business, I knew that in order to be somewhat successful that I needed to shed some of the other activities.  I LOVE to create, but I had to be realistic and see that I was not going to make "my millions" with what I created.  That's not a bad thing.  Now, I actually enjoy thinking of ideas that I want to do and don't worry about whether or not it sells. So, to make a long story short - I am slowly "making space."  How about you?  What are you making space for?
Blessings,
