Persistence

Persistent people begin their success where others end in failure.
What is it that you've thought about doing but haven't quite got around to doing yet?  Make this the year!  You will be so glad that you did!...then let me know what it was you did!

Blessings,

Be a good one

Whatever you are, be a good one.
                                      Abraham Lincoln
What are some of the things you are good at?
Blessings,

It only takes a spark

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”
—Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965); theologian, philosopher, physician

I am most thankful for those who come and help me light my candle when they see it growing dim.  Isn't that just like a good friend?  Not too long ago I had a situation that caused my candle to grow a little dim.  The very next day I got an email from a dear blogging sister who said that she was concerned about me.  It was no accident that she "arrived" when she did and she helped me to rekindle the spark within me.  The greatest blessings are from our relationships to each other.  How's your candle glowing?

Using the Ordinary

One of God's greatest miracles is to enable ordinary people to do extraordinary things
What is it that you want to do? Dream it, think it, plan it, and then go for it!
Ordinary isn't such a bad thing.  In fact, it's a good thing.  Think of the little boy who went to hear Jesus.  He was ordinary.  His mom probably packed his lunch for him.  It wasn't much - just a couple of fish and some bread.  He gave it to Jesus and...well, you know the rest of the story!  It's the principle of "do what you can with what you have" and see what God does with it. (Thank you, Dr. Hubbard)

The first day of a new year

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
—Anais Nin (1903-1977), author, diarist

Where in your life do you see yourself blossoming?
May your new year be full of blossoming blessings!

Blessings,

Year of Hope

Several years ago when the Internet was first coming alive, I had a small online business.  One of the services I had was a calendar with a "thought a day" to inspire, encourage, or challenge others.  I would like to make that available again only this time I would like to offer it to others without cost.  I hope that you will be encouraged to Reclaim Restore and Renew the life that you were meant to live.
The dictionary defines these words like this:
Reclaim – means to retrieve or recover
Restore – means to bring back to a former condition, reinstate
Renew – means to resume after an interruption
Please feel free to post this button on your blog for others to sign up for a year of daily thoughts. (You can do so by saving the image and then adding the link to this page.)
If you would like to join in on this journey, then enter your email in the follow by email section. Linking to day with Ruby Jean , Free Pretty Things for You ,

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...
the snow is falling.  We probably have about 15" of snow and it is so beautiful.
I am thinking...

of the holiday season and knowing that this is an incredibly painful time for some...wishing I could help take some of the pain away.
I am thankful...
I say it a lot, but I am so thankful for my family.  I am blessed and as my children continue to marry wonderful spouses, then my family gets bigger and I love that!
I am thankful for some amazing blogging friends
From the learning rooms...(if this applies)
Be still...it is in the quiet that we can hear His voice
In the kitchen...
made a new recipe - chicken lasagna.  They liked it!
cleaning up the kitchen again...
I am wearing...
a really cute sweater that I purchased at a yard sale...it's my new color that I like so much - I call it "Grinch green" because it's Christmas...otherwise we could call it lime green or apple green.  It's trimmed in jewels of pink, clear and green.
and, of course, blue jeans.......
I am creating...
I just made this and I love her face...
I am going...
to stay in where it is warm and watch the snow fall outside
I am wondering...
why I bought so many chocolate chips and what to do with them
I am reading...
List Yourself
When the Heart Waits by Sue Monk Kidd
Blogging - It's a "Woman" Thing by Cindy Adkins
I am hoping...
that God will have mercy on our country and that we will support Israel
I am looking forward to...
God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11
I am hearing...
my dogs breathing, the sound of the keyboard and quiet
Around the house...
all is calm
and a little disheveled
I am pondering...
what to do next
One of my favorite things...
the color pink
A few plans for the rest of the week:
spend time with family, write a few notes, play Words with Friends, cook, bake, read
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Blessings,
